The Harvest Festival

On the day of the Harvest Festival, the first thing I noticed as I arrived at Colégio were the eye-catching posters in the entrance to the school.
I was impressed by the colours and imagination that had been shown by the fifth year students in making them. Later, during their lunch hour, I ran some games with the students of 5th and 6th years. Through introducing ourselves in an interesting way - by using a roll of toilet paper- and playing games such as ‘Simon Says’, ‘British Bulldog’ and ‘Guess the Action’, I was able to meet students outside of the classroom environment and had a chance to get to know them personally. The students appeared to enjoy the games - I think the edible prizes helped! Overall, I felt the day was successful - both for the students and myself. From my point of view, to learn some names and faces - from theirs, to learn a little bit more about me and test their English skills whilst having fun.
